I hope the little time they have spent together comes into effect June 5. I just have the feeling cotto is going to have a hard time listening to his corner....... unless he is really determined and execute his game plan acordingly

While I dont doubt Steward's ability, people need to know that all trainers usually criticise their new fighters old habits. They always have to sing aboiut mistakes and anything new they are doing to the extent that you will think the guy couldnt fight at all before. We have heard all this rhetoric before

I agree 100%. There's no reason why a proffessional boxer should not know how to defend themselves. I could understand if his style made it hard to defend himself, or left his face wide open, but that's not even the case. He actually tries to defend, but he looks hopeless. It looks like Joshua Clottey is fighting with his eyes closed. Somebody ruined the guy's talent.

steward has very good insight. I have seen in countless fights where he calls something out in rd 1 or 2 and by rd 8 you see what he was talking about. The guy knows what he is doing, Cotto will improve but I just don't know how he is confidence wise.

The Cotto from the Pinto and Mosley fights huh? Against Mosley, Shane landed over 60% of his power punches despite the fact he didn't get the decision in that fight. And Pinto who?

agreed. Most of what he has done is basically natural ability. The absolute worst trained is zab Judah though.
