Do any Brits out there think that Hatton actually DAMAGED british boxing?

    I actually do.

I really hope that the guy doesn't come back, but if he does, I hope he fights another elite and gets murdered again.

To me Hatton symbolises everything bad about british boxing.

He only ever fought 2 elite fighters in there primes, and got destroyed badly by both of them, he was ignorant and stubborn, and blames all of his losses on everyone else.

He never fought that level of fighters just behind the elites. He never fought Junior Witter, who would have exposed him.

and most of his fans are that awful "football" type of fan who know nothing about boxing and embarrass themselves when they go abroad.

Pretty much, everyone calls Hatton a "working class hero" or whatever, but thats not true at all, i actually see him as a con man, who fleeced the working men of britain, made a ton of money and made british boxing look bad in the process.

Bleh. Replace Hatton's name with that of Calzaghe and then we're talking.

Hatton put British boxing on the map. Back in '05 I wasn't even watching boxing 24/7 like I am now, but I still remember that performance vs. Tszyu.

I would say Hatton and Calzaghe were bad for british boxing for different reasons. Hatton got paid waay way too much for getting his ass kicked, And he goes up to over 200lbs between fights. That's embarrassing....

When Floyd Sr. quickly adressed Hatton's excessive drinking, and Hatton made it clear he wasn't gonna stop, I saw how stubborn he was. It ****** because facing the level of opposition he did; I can't believe he took that route. It's so damn obvious that Hatton could have been better then he was. He may have still lost to the same opponents but he would have been that much more competitive.
