how is a 32 year old 74-2 fighter past his prime esp. since one lost came against arguable of the the greatest WW of all-time and another against the greatest 154lbs of all time? Also if he was past it then why was Haglar vs Duran and Hearnes vs Duran considered mega fights during that time. Also no past his prime fighter destroy Cuevas and wins the JMW title from Davey Moore? I'm not trying to flame but Lang beating Duran was considered upset of the year for a reason. If Duran was considered done..that fight would have never gotten that award.

Sorry, but I'm not going to explain to you how Duran was out of his prime not only in the Laing fight, but in any of his fights over 147 and arguably 135. You should be embarrassed even making that claim. I'm not even going to get into his bad training habits at that point of his career. I tell you what, make a thread asking this question and try to make your case that Kirkland Laing beat a prime Duran. I would like to see the responses you get. I'm also not going to explain to you how you can't rely on age as a barometer for ones prime. Why don't you look at Duran in his lightweight champion years and look at him fighting at 154 and up. Maybe you'll figure it out by then. Just because Duran still fought big fights is equivalent to saying Ali, Holyfield, Joe Louis, Chavez , Delahoya and many other fighters were still in their prime because they fought big fights throughout their careers. Delahoya still in his prime for Pacquiao? Ali for Holmes? Chavez for Tszyu? Holyfield just fought Valuev. Still in his prime? That's' some BS if you believe that. And Cuevas was done when Duran fought him. Duran was getting by on his skill which was some of the best in history. No way does that mean he was still prime. You seem to be throwing out names of fighters without knowing the history and timing of those fights.
