there was 4 years where he had questionable fights. jones career had 21 years in it. would you say that 4 is a bigger number than 17?

That is why normally cynical boxing people were so impressed when Britain's Nigel Benn, who holds the WBC version of the super-middleweight title, said after a recent victory: "This doesn't make me No1, I'm No2 behind Jones. He's the best." Such compliments are not readily paid, or easily earned.

Nor is Benn the only fellow-pro to admire Jones's ability with unabashed enthusiasm. Richie Woodhall, who holds the European middleweight title and lost to the American in the 1988 Olympic Games semi-final, said: "His biggest asset is his patience. He'll wait and wait until you get so frustrated that you'll come in swinging wildly, wide open - and then he'll dismantle you piece by piece." The endearingly honest Chris Eubank told me once, while he was WBO champion and the subject of Jones arose: "I fight to win, so that's why I won't fight Jones. He can beat me."

add eubank to that. trust me, benn refused.

How does that prove that Jones made an offer? seriously is that all you got?

He says jones is the best in this interview and also says he would like to fight him.

Jones signed his deal with HBO around 95/96. He had a deal with NBC before that where he also was allowed to chose his opponents

That quote has been taken out of context, because Benn would then call him out again

When Liles was asked who the best fighter he ever faced he said," Tim littles", when asked about Jones he burst out laughing

Recognising that independence was the most important thing implanted in Jones by his father, the Levins came in on the strict understanding that no promoter would be given options of future contests. Thus the impasse that exists between Jones and Benn, who is under contract to Frank Warren and Don King. "I'll fight Benn any time," Jones said last year when meeting British boxing writers in Atlantic City shortly before Lennox Lewis defeated Tommy Morrison. "Tell me where he is and I'll go and see him. If Benn wants this fight then he's got to understand that I won't sign away anything to the people who promote him. It's that simple."

mayeb he was laughing at the reporters ******ity considering liles never fought jones in the pros, you try too hard, you should change the subject, your a one-dimensional poster, and very much just a troll because of it

try making a thread that doesn't include jones or hopkins
                  that'd be the day

This from a guy who in his prime refused all efforts to get him to leave the U.S. to fight in England or Germany, turning down offers to face Calzaghe and the then undefeated German WBO champion Dariusz Michalzewski in his (and their) prime.

“When I was on top of the world, why would I go to the other guy’s place?’’ Jones asked. “If he’s going to beat me and I’m the best in the world come to my place.’’

still haven't stopped editing your posts i see
Do you think that maybe he says tim littles(a guy he fought 4 times and beat) because he's had so many encounters with tim(and even lost to him in the pros) which means they probabley know each other very well, you know, dont you think that has some influence on his choice there?
