Who has a better defense: Antonio Margarito or Paul Williams

These guys usually make good fights due to their workrates and poor defense. Williams's defense is atrocious against lefties and merely just bad against orthodox fighters. Margarito may roll with some shots here and there but eats a ton of leather.

Of the two, who has a better defense?

He didn't have that much trouble with Martinez. I had to watch that fight again and honestly, if you tune out the commentary. Martinez was horrible, who eats 1-2 combinations all night? He was getting tagged by the left straight all night.


Both are pretty horrible with defense but Williams gets the slight edge because he is more mobile. Which means he can get away from punches(if no one understood what I meant).


Margarito can get away from some shots but mainly just eats cow/goat hide to deliver punishment.

People would say Williams but to be honest its really just his height and reach.

After watching the Mosley vs Margarito fight, i have to say Paul Williams. Margarito has no head movement, no footwork. He's just a ****er, and he got ****** by Shane in that fight. Shane was throwing some wide punches and Margarito still couldn't move his head and feet to avoid most of those power punches.

Horrible? Wow.....

Eating 1-2s all night. How do you get hit with a jab straight 90% of the time it is thrown? He would throw a good hook then get caught with the jab-straight... I facepalmed every time I saw that when I rewatched it last night.


Commentary was waaay over doing it for Martinez. You can tell who they were going for in that fight.
