Lucian Bute is very good, but still untested

He's fought tough guys like Andrade, Bika, and Miranda, but hasn't faced the cream of the crop. Maybe all of the Super Six fighters are better than anyone Bute has faced. Not to mention he's fought almost entirely in Montreal his adopted home town (we all remember Andrade 1).

I don't want to take anything away from him. He's a very good fighter and he has impressed me a lot in his last two fights. But I don't think we have seen him in with a true elite fighter yet. We have a lot still to learn about Bute.

yeah I think people are getting a little bit a head of themselves, I agree he is a fantastic fighter but he has some more to prove before we crown him as the best SMW.

Those fighters are the ones you use to test fighters, to see if they're ready for the cream of the crop... I think he's tested and proven himself enough to get a fight with a top guy... I think he's a dog in a fight with 2/3s of the supersix, but at least now the fight will interest me.

Right on the money. Hes got some nice skills and power to go with it. But we havent seen him against a true elite 168lber. We need to see how he handles adversity against one of the super 6 guys, he almost buckled against Andrade the first time.

Yeah but since then Miranda is 4-4, having been KOed 3 times.

Green has not lost. That was like 3 years ago too.

I will say Green hasn't fought anyone that tough since Miranda. The jury's still out on Green too. That's why I said maybe.
