I'm waiting for both fights on that card. They already know each other well from the amateurs and sparring, don't know who won though.

If Mares can beat Perez at this stage, especially clearly, we can expect big things from this kid if he stays focus. Perez is a beast and I wouldn't count him out against anyone at 118.

I completely agree, I'm looking forward to this fight more than Marquez - Vasquez

Mares won two of their three fights as amateurs.

And Mares also let Perez live at his house for a while too.

Bantamweight is loaded, especially at the top. Mares is a great prospect, but if he was with anyone else, they'd have either moved him up and claimed he couldn't make the weight anymore or tried to see if he can get to 115 for a title shot.

This title is going to be well earned, it won't be a vacant title against some bum opponent. Perez is the real deal.

Yeah, I had heard that as well.

I absolutely agree that Bantamweight is loaded. It has the best belt holders of any division and has several quality contenders. As I told Ch@mp box, it didn't matter who Mares fought, he'd have to earn his belt.

yhonny perez is similar to paul williams in the way he throws pucnhes, likes to throw loads of combos.
