Current WBO NABO light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi spoke out again on why he thinks Manny Pacquiao is taking PEDs. Paul questions Manny’s rise in weight classes, physical size, weight, punching power and more. Let’s examiner further:
“I have my reasons why I think he’s on something. I know him and I’ve seen him over time. People think I just pull this stuff out of my a*s. I’m not a complete idiot that just accuses people of something without having my reasons to believe what it is I’m saying. I’m not hating or taking anything away from him, it’s just how I feel.” Malignaggi, Doghouseboxing.com
I like how Paulie talks about how he’s not trying to hate on Manny or take anything away from him. But, the very nature of accusing Manny of taking PEDs takes everything away from his as a boxer and a person. It strips away all of Manny’s historical accomplishments in the ring. Outside of the ring, it crushes his persona of being a God fearing, people loving, all-around good man.
“Just things I’ve seen in him. All the lean muscle he’s put on in such a short amount of time, the size of his head. And how does a guy just jump up from featherweight and he’s just walking through welterweight killers like (Miguel) Cotto? It just doesn’t make any sense.” Malignaggi, Doghouseboxing.com
5 years ago, Manny fought at 130 pounds when he took on Erik Morales. Are you telling me that a well trained athlete can’t put on 15 pounds in 5 years? I can drop or gain 15 pounds in less than a year and I’m nowhere near the level of physical training that the PacMan is on. It’s called training smart. You train for a specific purpose. People need to realize that Manny has to put on weight to get up to 147. He walks around closer to 140.
Now, to answer Paulie’s question And how does a guy just jump up from featherweight and he’s just walking through welterweight killers like (Miguel) Cotto?
It’s simple; Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world and will go down as one of the greatest boxers of all-time. Did anyone question Sugar Ray Leonard of being on PEDs when he was at the top of the sport? Where was all the questions for Tyson being on PEDs? Why is it that we are only really hearing people jump on Manny?
Anson Robinson Sacramento, CA “Could it be possible that Manny is taking PEDs?”
Anything is “possible” in life. But, I don’t believe Manny is on PEDs. Nobody has any evidence. There aren’t any unrealistic changes in his body size or weight. Why can’t people accept the fact that Manny is a great fighter? Why can’t people accept that he’s going to go down as one of the greatest fighters of all-time?
Mayweather is 40-0 and has jumped up several weight classes over his career. Why aren’t people questioning that he took PEDs in the past? Neither Manny nor Floyd has ever failed a drug test in their respective careers. So then, why are people only questioning Manny? Paulie, the Mayweathers, and other Manny critics are just ignorantly blind and have provided no proof or evidence to their accusations.
