Should Pavlik hire a new trainer?

I mean Jack Loew has been training Pavlik since he was a kid. I know Pavlik is a good guy trying to be loyal, but boxing is also a business. I mean if sons can fire their own fathers, I think Pavlik should find a new trainer.

Loew actually seems like a good trainer and he did a great a job taking Pavlik to the top, but how much more can he teach him? I am sure after nearly 20 years he's taught Pavlik everything he knows. Pavlik can really improve if he had a different voice and approach to his training.

He could, but I don't think Pavlik has the Athleticism to make that much of a change....

You don't need to just have incredible athleticism to improve as a fighter. That's called natural talent, and if every fighter have that it wouldn't matter who the trainer was.

Kelly needs a whole new team, trainer included.

Jack seemed to be giving solid advice in the corner.

Can't speak for his camp though.

I think he needs to rededicate himself to the sport.

I think he came into camp grotesquely over weight. Probably 190+.

All the rumors about his lifestyle drinking partying ect. may be just that. But where theirs smoke there's usually some fire. Not to mention the staph infection and punishment hes taking in the ring are all aging him fast.

He needs a new cutman that's for damn sure.

At this point, no. It's not much that can be changed. He's flat footed and his weakness is elusive fighters. His advantage is having the power to change the momentum of a fight, being able to take a punch. If he can work on cutting out of the ring and apply meaningful pressure, he'll be fine.

Kelly's corner is fine, Kelly is the problem.

Remember Kelly wanted to quit Saturday, it was his corner that talked him into manning up and not getting a TKO/RTD against a slickster.

By now he's set in his style and you;re not gonna improve his skills anyway. It's his desire to fight being questioned.

a complete overhaul of the team would be great. but a change of the cut man is reasonable.
