I'm not gonna knock on Floyd for taking the fight. It was a smart move in his quest for De La Hoya. But lets not sit here and try to make it seem like the world was picking against Floyd in this fight. Lets not pretend that everyone thought this fight was a toss up. For ever one pundit that picked Baldomir, there were 6 that pick Floyd. This is like going back and pulling up opinions from pundits choosing Diaz over Pacquiao and then saying people thought this fight was going to be pick em fight.

          Dub Five:

You were a fan back then. So you remember. People were thinking that Baldomir was a risk - not the favourite - in that fight.

As you remember, people were saying that Baldomir had deserved to fight Floyd after TaTa beat Zab. Some even acccused FMJ of ducking Carlos.

          RIP Guru....you played his music?

fact of the matter is that floyd will always be the fav, no matter who he fights. look at how people talk before the fight then what they say after.

fact is, people said floyd wont fight shane. now that he is, shane has become shot.

same will be said for pac. the moment pac agrees to fight floyd, people, even the *******s will start switching up their stories as the fight nears.

and guess what, floyd will be the fav in that fight too.

no matter what, floyd is held to the highest standard out of anyone in the sport.

people expect floyd to overachieve while other fighter are expected to underachieve compared to floyd,

FLoyd is in a lose lose situation, always b/c hes great.

i cant wait to hear the excuses line up when floyd-pac is coming about

So you're argument has gone from it being a toss-up fight to accepting Floyd was an 8-1 favourite and the oppoent was a 'risk'. A risk in a professional boxing fight? Never heard of that before.

hope you arent addressing my post b/c thats not what i said

but ill address you post. people still called for flooyd to fight baldo and when he fought baldo and out classed him, as usual, people degrade the win.

a fav is a fav. floyd will always be a fav, even if it 2 to 1, people will discredit his win.

watch when he fights pac. the excuses will be ridiculous

Baldomir had a better career than Margarito or Clottey. He has more victories than both. He defeated Clottey. And he held the REAL WW title.
