Why does a fighters purse/PPV numbers matter.

Pretty much the only reason I really care about how the ratings/PPV sales/ticket sales of certain fighters is to see which matchups I can be more optimistic about potentially happening and which I can realistically say aren't as likely to happen.Comment

The biggest fights with Ali (and Leonard after that) were often on closed circuit. They'd be on network TV later, but in order to see it when it happen as it occurred, you still had to pay for it.Comment

If the discussion is "who is the bigger draw?" then it is a very valid point to bring up. Chavez wasn't the greatest boxer in history, but it can't be denied that he was one of the biggest draws.Comment

I hope your talking about Chavez Jr, because Chavez Sr may not of been the "greatest" but he was "one of the greats".Comment

Some people have to find anything they can to boast their favorite and put down the others, even if it has nothing to do with the fight itselfComment

Ok after seeing 20 million threads again today talking about PPV numbers and how Pac is screwed because of this I have to reserrect this thread.
Why would *****s want pac to be screwed over because of PPV numbers?
Let me indulge idiot *****s for a second and lets just say that this is true, are you really that far up Floyds ass that you would actually like to have another reason for this fight to get torpedoed only over money this time? Are you really that ******?Comment
