    he dont want to defend it.... he is afraid to lose.

    he needs more money than belt itself.

          Are you serious dawg?... Do you wanna see the top 3 welterweights ranked by the wba that Floyd would have to "defend" his belt against, who are possibly mandatories if he actually did want the belt:

          1. Souleymane Mbaye
          2. Antonio Decaire
          3. Hector Saldavia

          lmao... do you really want Floyd to take the belt and "defend" it?.... lmao

                    Obviously you dont know much about boxing.He has never enjoyed paying these fees,the fees aint fixed but variable i.e the more you make the more you pay.Mayweather would need to pay tonnes of cash and for what reason?For big fights they charge more than the capped $150k.Mayweather doesnt need titles he has already stated he fights for money not titles.

                    Sanction” means the official recognition given to a bout involving the following:

                    (1) A title (all championships);
                    (2) Mandatory contender position;
                    (3) Contender eliminator; or
                    (4) Box-off.

                    Single Title. An Association Champion can have only one world title in one division at the same time. If a World Champion wishes to fight for a title in another division, he must apply in writing to the Championships Committee for approval and must present a signed document undertaking that, in the event he wins the fight and obtains the other title, within five (5) days of the fight he will choose the title he wishes to retain and relinquish the other title. Failure to comply with any of these provisions is sufficient cause for the Championships Committee to withdraw recognition from him of either title or both titles.

                    Non-Sanctioned Bout. An Association Champion or officially recognized contender who participates in a fight without the approval or sanction of the Championships Committee may have his title or recognized status removed by the Committee Chairman.

                    Non-Title Bout Loss. A loss in any bout, including a non-title or non-sanctioned bout, may result in loss of the boxer’s title or contender status.

                    Fee Payments. The Registered Promoter who has requested or been granted sanction of a bout is responsible for payment of all sanction fees, and must submit documentation of payment to the Chairman, together with the formal application for the sanction of the fight and a copy of the contracts between the promoter and the boxers duly signed by them no later than thirty (30) days before the bout. No boxer or boxer’s agent shall have any authority to direct a promoter to pay, nor may a promoter pay, any less than the full amount of the sanction fees owed. Fees shall be determined by the Association based on the total purse owed the boxers. Fees based on the purse of both boxers must be paid. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may result in non-sanction of the contest and removal of recognition of any boxer participating in the bout. The Chairman or President may modify the requirements of this section in his sole discretion for good cause.

                    For world championship contests

                    HTML Code:
                    Sanctioning Fee Percentage of Purse Minimum Maximum
                    Champion 3% of purse $ 3,500 $ 150,000
                    Challenger 3% of purse $ 1,500 $ 150,000

                    If both fighters are recognized as champions, each is subject to the champion’s fee. If both fighters are recognized as challengers, each is subject to the challenger’s fee.

                      lol at ppl saying hes scared of the top contenders in the WBA, thats hating for real, no other explanation.

                      but i still think he should pay the sanctioning fees, isnt it worth 25,000 (if your in floyds shoes) of a 40million pay check so u can call yourself a 2 time WW champ? he says belts collect dust but that dont make no sense to me, the belt itself is what i want more than most things connected to being world champion if i imagined myself in that position.

                      its not like he has to defend it incase he gets a mandatory, he can just vacate it or fight a unification (which trumps mandatorys).
