Valero was reported to have drug and alcohol problem so it doesn't matter if he fought in the US or not. Valero would just train for a weeks(acclimation) in the US and then fight. After that go back to Venezuela and resume his addiction.
Would Edwin still be alive if he was allowed to fight in the US?

not to make excuses for the guy, but Valero's manager stated that the problems and abuse mostly began when Valero was denied Visa to the U.S. so yes most likely if he was allowed in, he would be alive and things would be going ok for now.
However, don't take that to mean that I put blame on the U.S. Valero supposedly when he WAS in the U.S., got a DUI drunk driving charge in Texas so he dug his own grave by ****ing up and being an alcoholic.Comment
