OK, so the belts don't matter as such. But currently the best 3 WWs have title belts - if one doesn't want to think of unifying them, then think of it instead as cleaning out the division by beating them. Same thing either way.

Its not about unifying. Its the fact that he's holding it hostage against mediocre opponents like Martinez. I honestly don't ever think we'll see him against fighters like Alvarez, Estrada, Jones, etc. I doubt he'd even fight Abregu, despite his plastic jaw.

Calling him a no talent bum is very very harsh. He's a solid fighter who is a cut below the elite WW's at the top of the division.

I doubt he'd be doing it for long. He has to fight Randall Bailey, who became the mandatory challenger by beating Jackson, or vacate, in which case, good riddance. If he beats Bailey he can't be entirely considered a paper champ, and I doubt Bailey would hold the belt hostage. Would be nice to see someone like Jones pick up the IBF belt later this year.

kinda fights like a smaller, poor man's kessler to me.

i dont expect him to defend his belt vs anyone of note if his first defense was any indication. i think he'll find a way to sidestep bailey and rematch jackiewicz

I don't know what that first defense was all about, but I doubt that he'll get through the year without fighting Bailey. Don't think the IBF would make excuses for a guy like Zaveck. I just hope a up and coming prospect that actually has potential can snatch the belt within a year.

Zavack is not very good, I suggested that Guzman could move up to WW and easily while losing no more than 2 rounds take the IBF strap from him.
