    Sergio Martinez = HERO

I'm going to be honest with you all. I'm Latino and all my life I've heard cases around me of latino families struggling with domestic abuse.

Maybe it doesn’t mean much for many of us to hear that Sergio Martinez is speaking out against domestic abuse. But in many latin American countries, the practice of domestic and spousal abuse is very commonplace, sadly, almost expected.

Whether it happened the way the articles are reporting it or not, the image of a champion killing his wife can have a profound effect on young impressionable minds. Martinez is a hero for seeing this and sweeping in declaring his first action as Middleweight King to Champion the cause of speaking out against Domestic Violence. Basically, he’s doing damage control on this weekend’s terrible events.

For many young latinos who follow boxing, knowing that one of their favourite boxers looks down at at the practice may influence them to think about his message.

I know if I was still a kid, I’d be confused as f**** about what happened this weekend. Martinez is a champ for putting it in perspective and making it seem easy and natural to be both a gentleman and a force in boxing.

Thanks you Sergio for being a positive Latino influence. God knows we all need one.

Sergio just keeps looking better and better.

First he beats Cintron(don't care what the decision was, he won)
Next he has a FOTY candidate with Paul Williams
Then he becomes the MW lineal champ
Now he speaks out against domestic abuse

On top of it all, he's sexy as hell.

Martinez and Pacquiao are the new saviours of boxing. I hope they can filter out the filth IE..The Mayweathers, Berto, Kirkland.... and the over rated pretenders like Paul Williams, Haye, Direll, Ward. The time to retire crowd...Hopkins, Jones jr and Holyfield. They are killing boxing.
