Comments Thread For: Valuev vs Solis Discussions Going Well, Says Don King

The American promoter for former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev is pleased with the progress of the ongoing negotiations with Top Rank for a fight with Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis. Valuev is represented by King and Sauerland Event. Solis is represented by Top Rank and Arena Box Promotions. The promoters have to reach a deal by April 30 or a purse bid will be ordered by the WBC. This could be a real good fight.

    Does Solis fight going backward?

I've only seen him as a stalker in the ring.

Would he stand toe to toe with Valuev?

David Haye received a gift decision over Nicolay Valuev, but Odlanier Solis will convincingly defeat the ponderous giant.

Hopefully this goes off and Austin successfully sues the WBC. Finally get rid of at least one of these pieces of ****, corrupt sanctioning body organization.

So.. if Valuev is fighting Solis .. Haye can just accept Klitschko's challenge.

              Exactly.

But I bet Haye will come up with an excuse to avoid the K bros again, and decide to fight still another opponent past age 36. Maybe Shannon Briggs or Evander Holyfield?

sweet, now Wlad throws Pov a little step aside cash and Haye and Wlad can fight (whats the chances it'll be that easy?).

Talks were supposed to begin weren't they, or did the airports being closed screw that up?

The decision could have gone either way, Haye was lucky to get the decision considering when it's that close it usually goes to the champion/hometown fighter. Don't make me bring up the Round by Round thread of that fight...

I'll be amazed if Valuev actually gets in the ring with Solis.
