So his friend invites Adamek to come along on a sightseeing flight, which he had done before, but Tomasz declined this time cuz the weather made him nervous. The plane ended up crashing killing all 5 on board.
This was at the end of Feb and the other week you had the Polish National tragedy with the other plane crash killing alot of the Polish elite. I imagine he'll be fighting with a heavy heart this weekend.
WALL TOWNSHIP -- Two days before Jacek "Jack" Mazurek took off with friends in his Cessna 337 Skymaster from Monmouth Executive Airport, he asked Polish born, New Jersey-based professional fighter Tomasz Adamek to join him on the sightseeing tour.
In what may have been the most fortuitous decision of his life, Adamek declined.
Two days after his friend’s plane crashed at the Wall Township airport killing all five people aboard, Adamek was left grieving over the loss of a good friend. The heavyweight boxer said he doesn’t like to think how close he came to being on board that ill-fated flight.
Adamek, a Jersey City resident, said he joined Mazurek on several of his sightseeing flights in the past, but turned down Monday’s excursion because he didn’t like the idea of being in a small plane in the cold weather with still a lot of snow on the ground from last week’s storm.
‘‘He said ‘Absolutely not. It’s too cold and snowy’ and he’s afraid of flying in a small plane in that weather,’’ said Mariusz Kolodziej, a sponsor of Adamek
