    Is Alvarez-Zaveck/N'Dou next?

Oscar mentioned that the winner of Cotto-Alvarez will get a title shot next. Alvarez is obviously going to destroy the much smaller Cotto. He's definitely not going after the Mayweather-Mosley winner's WBA title, and I doubt he'll fight Berto or Pacquiao for the WBO or WBC titles either, so the other two left are Jan Zaveck's IBF and Lovemore N'Dou's IBO. Which one do you see him fighting next, and how would he do?

He shouldn't go after either. Ward and Dirrell were in their mid twenties before they really stepped it up with the super six. Alvarez needs a few years of polish before he should even think about the top guys. If I had to choose, I guess the IBO, because it's not as major as the IBF title is. If he wins the IBF title, he could be facing guys he just shouldn't be facing at this point in his career.

Yeah,I agree that IBO would be the best choice. He still has a few years before he can step up to the big boys. I'm not even sure if he can beat David Estrada yet...

Estrada would be a dumb fight for them to take. Didn't look bad vs Lara. Estrada a guy that the 26/27 year old Mike Jones should be fighting. Not the 19 year old Alvarez. He might be able to beat N'Dou, but I would send him other people at this stage. Not bad competition, but maybe guys like Cosme Rivera eventually, and gradually step it up year after year.

Yeah, you are right. I just hope they don't rush him like they did Victor Ortiz and get him sparked. The kid has some potential.

I think Alvarez would handle Zaveck and Ndou IMO.

Wouldn't be surprised, honestly. But would he beat Randall Bailey, who would be his mandatory?

Ouch...I don't think I'd want to see Alvarez in the ring with a puncher like Bailey for a few more years. That Sugar Jackson KO is still stuck in my head. Didn't he break the dude's legs? LOL

I dont think hes ready for arguably one of the hardest hitters in the sport. He wouldnt fight Bailey.
