Sergio Didnt Get Dropped and There Should Be A Rematch!

I just watched the fight for the 1st time and I havent seen enough threads to know if people saw this but Sergio was tripped by Pavlik and thats why he complained of the knock down. It wasnt a trip on purpose. A punch definitely landed but he only fell because Pavlik's foot was right behind his and he tripped over it. It made me mad how the HBO judges were right there and couldnt see that when I clearly saw it while it happened. You could even tell by the way he fell.

Anyways, Pavlik wasnt doing nearly as bad as people on here make it seem. I think pretty much everyone scored the last 4 rounds for Sergio and thats what the judges probably did. If you take away those 4 rounds then Pavlik's manager is right in that it was basically a 4-4 fight going into the 9th when Kelly got cut. Now a cut is part of boxing so its still an L and you cant blame Sergio but its not out the realm to say that Pavlik wouldnt have won if he never got that cut. You could tell he was instantly done with it both physically & mentally.

All in all I think it was a good fight that deserves a rematch. If I was Dibella then I would just take the best deal between Pavlik & Williams. Honestly, I still think that Pavlik may be the harder fight for Sergio or atleast the more physically taxing. With that being said, can Pavlik even make the weight anymore? Who knows.

i think he should move up, it more $$$ at SMW then MW. but kelly don't want to fight no one worth fighting at middleweight.

Pavlik had a rematch clause in their contract, so a rematch will happen if Kelly wants one. Probably the biggest obstacle is Pavlik making 160 again.

I think Martinez is Pavliks best fight. He just needs to lay off the weights before training camp. He came into camp bigger then ever weights and basketball were what he was doing to stay in shape. He might want to do swimming and basketball next time.

Super middle weight is not a good idea. If he loses to Martinez again I don't think it would be as bad as losing to Bute, Ward, or Dirrell. Those guys I think are tougher fights then Martinez. They have the speed plus more size and power. Plus If Pavlik beats Martinez it looks better on his resume.

Bute can knock a guy out with one punch in my opinion. Bute has alot of pop behind his punches.

the problem is kelly is killing himself to make 160 pounds. I mean he rehydrated to 180 on fight night. That's not a good sign. Martinez wont fight him above 160.

I think it would be a bad decision for kelly to take the rematch clause, imo.

yeah kelly couldn't take clean shots from a puncher like that he was at least taking martinez's shots better than williams was those cuts ruled out any possibility of kelly winning the fight

his struggle to make weight cannot be good for him neither

it took him about 4-5 rounds before he was even blocking anything that was coming at him

fighting bums like rubio and espino have proved a terrible mistake

he wasn't ready for martinez physically or mentally. that being said i thought he showed alot of heart and perseverance

if he came in better shape he may stand a chance of regaining the tilte
