Why would he hire Evangelista Cotto when Ronnie Shields is already his trainer?

By most accounts, Evangelista and Miguel barely even talked, so we can assume that Miguel really never even worked one of Evangelista's game plans. Shieds has trained a pretty good list of fighters and I think he's proven he can draw up a decent gameplan or tweak weaknesses better than Cotto.

in the short term it will be good, but in the long term why would henry want to be a cotto clone? i mean cotto is elite, but he's fallen short of expectations.

                  I agree with this.

Evangelista can bring Omar up well. But when Omar gets in with the elite he's going to make the same mistakes Cotto makes with that peek-a-boo defense.

All of Evangelista's fighters employ that same defense(from what I've seen) and it has soo many holes that Evangelista then can't fix.

Henry would be better of with Shields IMO.

Ronnie Shields is not currently overseeing Omar's training.

Omar is trained by Hylon Williams, Sr. and J. Johns at Savannah's Boxing Gym in Houston, TX, where he is also a full-time college student.
