..or he knew he was going to get killed in prison(or he got killed in prison and they're saying he committed suicide).
Let me explain, at least here in Puerto Rico there is a "code of conduct" by the prisioners that if you get to jail because of sexually abusing/beating up a woman, a child, or an elderly person you are dead once you go in there. I would imagine many prisions around latin america have the same "code of conduct". He knew what was coming and decided to do it himself or the prisioners by their "code of conduct" just took justice in their own hands.Comment

Justifying the suicide has nothing to do with justifying the murder. It was almost the inevitable conclusion, the man likely realized how messed up he was in the face of what he'd done, he confessed the murder immediately after committing it after all. A lot of you may not be able to understand this, but in Japan you atone by taking your own life, not by sitting around.Comment

Valero also “adored his wife,” Mora said. “We were very close to him and we knew there could be this sort of outcome because when he became conscious of what he really had done, he wasn’t going to be able to bear not being close to Carolina.”
