The Super Six: Will the homecourt advantage continue? Kessler trying to make it 5-0

So far we have had 4 fights in the Super Six tournament, and every one of those has been won by the hometown fighter.

    Abraham-Taylor (Germany) - Abe wins
    Froch-Dirrell (England) - Froch wins
    Ward-Kessler (Oakland) - Ward wins
    Dirrell-Abraham (Detroit) - Dirrell wins

If I'm betting on this fight, I not only consider this, but it may sway me to bet on Kessler even more.

I'm hoping that once this tourney gets into the elimination rounds, that we start seeing some neutral locations like Vegas, MSG, etc.

Home cooking is alright sometimes, but if the tourney continues to be run with these home town advantages, people may become annoyed.

Yep and i think you could def make cases were hometown factor played a big part in the fights..

AA getting time off for lowblows (he would have won anyway prob)
    Hometown dec for Froch
    Not penalising Ward for butts
Weird officiating in the Dirrel/AA fight KD's not scored etc.

Home town advantage is an advantage in every sport, not just boxing. And it goes beyond officiating and judges.

I don't think there's any team in any major sport who has a better historical record away than at home.

In a close fight where no one is a clear winner, I don't mind it when the home town fighter gets the benefit of the doubt.

I don't condone it at all, but there are situations where it doesn't bother me.

Froch-Dirrell for instance. While I believe Dirrell won, I was okay with the decision because it was a close fight.

I'm certainly not saying it's a good thing.

he may end up fighting dirrell in detroit. yes hes still at "home" but not in oakland which seem to be the thing thats angering people. also if a specific fighter had a problem with fighting ward in oakland they couldve enacted a specific clause in the contract and blocked it the fight from happening there. i believe this is what gary shaw has threatened to do.

I had Abraham winning on points before stopping Taylor. Which is quite funny, since I had Abraham winning next to no rounds against Dirrell.

Abraham was robbed of a knock-down kind of though, Dirrell went down from a punch their feet were tied up that bad. Atleast I didn't think they were from the camera angles I seen it looked like the punch made him go down not the feet.
