He had sustained serious brain injury back in a motorbike accident in 2001, and he was not wearing a helmet. He also failed a past mri scan, so its highly probable this could have produced his violence and caused him to lose it.

If he failed a mri-scan, how the hell was he allowed to box?

Wouldn't it be clear he'd be at risk if he fought with injuries that still existed?

Thats why he couldnt get a license in the US and always fought in another Country until his last couple of fights where Texas got greedy and saw a star who could make big money. He shouldve never been allowed to fight

Yeah, any kind of brain trauma, especially one of Valero's nature could play a huge role in his thought processes and decision making. I'm not positive, but I've heard damage was done to hit frontal lobe, which can make a person extremely volatile and compulsive with acting before thinking. Boxing also probably didn't help, but I would more weight towards the injury.

I don't think any of Valero's actions are justified by any means, but he clearly needed help mentally that he didn't receive. It's a sad ending to a sad story.

I feel like a douche cause this made me laugh. But ya I remember in a psych class hearing about how brain damage changes you. It's makes you more impulsive and agressive. Not saying the murder was justified or trying to give him a pass or anything, but when there's damage done to your brain it messes with you.
