Valero's Death is Getting Big Time Coverage.

I feel this isn't good for the sport.
The comments by most fans are attempting to relate the nature of the crime to the "brutality of the sport"

front page of ESPN: Deportes www.espndeportes.com
    front page of Yahoo.

    Hell pretty much everywhere.

When a similar thing happened with Wrestling/Chris Benoit it got huge coverage too and they tried to **** all over it, i hope they don't do the same to boxing.

Surprisingly it was mentioned on Finnish newspapers even though boxing doesn't get much coverage here. Unfortunately it's negative attention for the sport but the media can hardly ignore it.

It won't do anything to the sport, people expect this stuff from boxing now.

Also unlike the WWF, boxing has no single organization the media can go after.

Won't hurt boxing in the least, the same way OJ Simpson did't hurt football.

What happened to Valero wasn't in any way related to boxing. If he would have died in the ring, then that might have been a different story.

Probably the reason he killed himself is because I bet alot of inmates threaten to shank him anyways. I doubt it was the guilt of killing and beating the **** out of his family members. Despite the reputation some prisoners have, alot of prisoners do not like women beaters.
