    Pavlik exposed big time?

I said this for a while how this guy is over rated, after making 300 quid profit betting for hopkins to take him out, i won 200 quid betting on martinez on a general victory.

The guy does not have great ring movement, general speed or power. I said this while he was undefeated to various people. Look for years he has been complaining of being weight drained at 160, why do you lot think he did not move up? because he would get exposed at 168, can you imagine the beating abraham would give him?

I think the hopkins fight was at 170, now that is a PERFECT weight for him yet he got embarrassed by a pensioner who was way past his prime...

Make no mistake, martinez beat his ass, despite the cut martinez was holding back and then used up everything in the final few rounds becoming quicker and quicker

The question now should be...should martinez stay at 160 or go back down to 154? he could potentially get a mega fight against floyd or mosley..

    maybe even pac?

Good points about the 160-168 move. I was thinking the same thing when HBO were saying he needs to move up. IMO 8 out of the top 10 SMWs would beat him.

180 is a stretch, 190 so hatton wont be weight drained

Don't forget that Pavlik dominated rounds 5-8. While it's just as possible that Sergio got his wind in the 9th as it is that the cut changed things, you can't deny that Pavlik did have an answer in the middle rounds and had worn Martinez down. Who knows how that fight goes if the cuts don't happen.

that is a very valid point, I suppose it is up for debate but the 2nd wind thing you talked about, I think that was his strategy all along, start of strong and rest a couple of rounds, then unleash everything.

I certainly will be betting on martinez again if the rematch occurs, martinez was a natural 154 pound fighter on the night fighting a natural 168 for me, fantastic achievement by him

Agreed, I don't think this fight was an exposing of Pavlik, it was a coming out for Sergio Martinez. This guy is really good.

It can sound like we are taking away from Sergio's victory by saying Pavlik is overrated etc. But it's all true, I give Martinez alot of credit but let's face it Pavlik is basically a tall power puncher who can throw the 1-2 quite well, Aside from that he is very average.

It's funny that people say Kelly is a much better fighrer than Paul Williams, I'm not saying you should judge guys on one fight but look how Williams fought Martinez and look how Pavlik almost quit against Martinez.

Also though, you may have to consider that Pavlik may have had an answer to that second wind also. We just don't know until they fight again. Pavlik certainly had the odds stacked against him with that second cut and you could tell it was bothering him a lot. Cuts though are a part of the game and his team is responsible for that. Martinez did his part and came on strong. He answered his gut check for sure.

I also don't think Martinez had it planned all along. Pavlik was making him miss and making him pay for it in the middle rounds

It was not an exposing in my book i mean Pavlik won 4 middle rounds and got a KD (Legit or otherwise) it was fairly close till the cut. I allways knew Kelly would have trouble with Martinez, i believe he could win the rematch if he gets rid of his trainer though. He should have took the easier option of Williams tho

He don't stand any chance vs the Super six well.. maybe Green but i have not watched Green much. He loses to Bute aswell.. he needs to keep his ass down at MW
