Valero asking for help and support last week

What has happened is terrible, The guy had issues that we will probably never know about but the main thing that i am thinking about apart from the kids is this.

The guy clearly came out last week and admitted that he had problem's and asked for his familly and friends to suport him.

The clearly offered him no help at all by the sounds of it (correct me if i am wrong)

His familly, friends, managers, trainers and promoters should take a portion of this blame.

Surely with the money the sport makes it could put more into the mental and physical well being of the boxers than being just about the good fights and the money.

It ****ing sucks to be honest. The guy ****ed up but where was the boxing community to help when he came out last week and admitted his problems???

Hope they realise that they although are not to blame they are not completly blameless.

He went to rehab and then checked out almost immediately then went missing for 26 hours.

They couldn't make him stay, he had free will to leave and he did.

Why are we being sympathetic to the murderer? He killed a innocent 20 year old woman and you want someone other than him to take blame?

Look, the guy might have been messed up in the head and alcoholic but he also beat the **** out of his wife and even own mother. He's been arrested or heald for domestic problems dozens of times.

I know this because I work for Venezuelans and they keep me up on his actions.

No one is to blame but Valero himself, he understood this and killed himself. Now there are lives shattered, children left without a mother and father and all because of this guys rage.

Sorry but I can't side with Valero on this one, no matter how great of a boxer he was.

If he was off the rails as bad as we all think he was could his familly not have got him sectioned?

I would like to think that if i was a danger to myself or anyone else my familly would section me for my safety and the ones i love's safety

I am not siding with him. After what he did he deserved to die but i am talking about what happened to his wife not him.

People close to them must have known what he was like and did nothing to protect his wife or kid's.

Read my post about him getting sectioned

This is not the U.S kid, this is a 3rd world country in Venezuela where **** is done in a much different way. He was arrested before and was given a slap on the hand because of his open allegiance to Hugo Chavez and his ideals.

In countries like that and most Latin America, when you have money or are a celebrity, you basically have a license to do what you want. Valero has been out of control for a very long time and got away with a lot of ****.

lol i aint from america mate, I am from across the pond in Scotland. Sad day but people could have done more to help her. I understand its her choice to stay with him but just feel bad for her familly and the kid's.
It's the same in this country but not to as big an extent.

Look at Pete Townsend from the Who. If that was me i would be jailed

Valero was obviously mentally ill, but that doesn't excuse him. Unfortunately he'll always have something of a legend about his career now because he died undefeated and with a perfect knockout ratio. The truth is though that he was yet to fight anyone above C-level. He should have been sectioned to avoid something like this.
