Man Ray Leonard was one of the greatest! He had power from his speed, he was a smart boxer and very technically sound, he could out box castillo and corrales, and hatton and gatti and mayweather! Stop hating on the man. He fought some tough fighters and beat them. The hagler fight he CLEARLY WON! you may not like the way he won it but it was better then clinching and holding someones arm and hitting them.Comment

Pryor is one of my top 5 favorites ever btw...
I hear Sugar Ray Leonard gave Duran only 3 week notice to duran for the rematch, and sugar ray knew all that time and was in peak condition and that the money was soooo goood that Duran couldnt refuse...
He still makes up for his unbelievable accomplishments..Comment

Pryor could have beat leonard and that is my honest opinion his style was made for him he was super aggressive pressure fighter with power in both hands and stamina like no other, The hawk by ud.Comment

First of all...
I HATE Ray Leonard, but I acknowledge that he was an incredible talent and an incredible fighter.
I hate him for the simple fact that he was the little golden boy who was always in the right place at the right time getting lucky. He just reminded me of that one kid who could always charm everyone and manipulate the system to end up on the good end of the stick.
He was awarded a decision over Marvin Hagler in which I thought he lost (but Marvin didn't help himself out by being so hesistant), and he was awarded a gift DRAW against Tommy Hearns in their second fight.
The myth of Ray Leonard Wanting to get as far away as possible from Aaron Pryor probably has some truth to it because Pryor was a fierce, high risk low reward kind of fighter. However, DON'T confuse that with Ray being AFRAID of Pryor. Leonard stepped into the ring with three of the most dangerous fighters ever, two being complete tenacious beasts and the other being the biggest style nightmare for anyone EVER. Ray would have beaten Aaron Pryor quite soundly at 147...
All that being said...I stiil hate that mother****er.Comment

You can put a gun to my head and I would still be rooting for Pryor...

Originally posted by Santinolol, I just got off the phone with Ray. He says he hates you too.
I wouldn't doubt it. If I had it my way I'd throw him in a ring with a young George Foreman and tell George that Ray just insulted his mother...Comment

He was great!
He fought clean and hit his opponents more then he got hit.. for the most part. And he did it against fighters that had WAY more power. He fought all these guys fair and clean. stayed on his feet and got the job done. How can you fault him for that. He beat Hagler, and having boxed and having seen more fights then I can remember, and really understanding the sweetness of this so called science, I know exaclty what I saw. If you don't like the way he won that fight, then you wanted him to lose. How else can you beat a guy with a granite chin and huge punches and you have neither.Comment
