I think this is an unbelievable even and the authorities have let this happen.

If he was not a profesional boxer of his calibre he would have been in gaol long ago, his wife must have been terrified following the first assualts and probably saw something like this coming.

His boxing career is now irrelevant to me, however it eases me to know that someone like him should get his just deserts in gaol were there are no weight classes.

He was not insane enough to run up on the wrong people in his country... that would blow his head off if he ever came at them sideways or people of high authority. Get out here with this insane crap. He's insane for what he wants.

first he admits to have killed his wife to the hotel staff. and he said that without the police who arrived 30 minutes later, so there is no coercion. now, he is saying he didnt, that she is in another world. Two things in all of these: either he did kill her knowingly, which is either murder, manslaughter depending on the strength of the motive, or he did kill her either in self-defense (which is highly unlikely as he would have said so from the start), or he did kill her under the influence. Either way, using insanity in this case cannot be used as a defense because his "craziness" is caused by drugs. His present mindset is thus NOT an exempting or mitigating circumstance, and should even be classified as an aggravating circumstance as the act was done with the use of some illegal substance that caused his "craziness". PLUS his history of trouble. His first confession is sufficient already to admit guilt to the act. The question now is the severity: if it can be classified as murder, homicide, or manslaughter. This will have to be argued by the lawyers and in court.

The bottom line, Valero is finished. And I hope Arum will not try to defend this scumbag as he did with Margarito.

him having a psychotic episode is not out of the realm of possibility.
he's already mentioned in the past to have suffered from depression and has had manic episodes.
mental illness + brain injury + drug abuse can easily lead to psychosis.
