What Would be a Better Trilogy? Vazquez-Marquez or Williams-Martinez?

The first Williams-Martinez fight was unbelievable. I really think we can get a trilogy out of these guys. The three Marquez-Vazquez fights were incredibly exciting. Could Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez surpass it?

I don't know it is hard to say.

What made Vazquez-Marquez special is that the fights got better and better.

the thing that separates vazquez-marquez from barrera-morales is that it was decided in the final moments of the third fight, a truly dramatic and climatic ending. that and you consider all three were wars fought at a high, high skill level, it'll be very tough to surpass.

i have a feeling that a second or third won't be as good as the first.

          i'm hopeful, though.

I think they could, But it depends who wins the rematch (Assuming it happens). I mean if Williams won again there proberbly wouldnt be a third fight but I definetly think if these guys did have a trilogy I think it would be great for boxing because they are exciting fighters and their styles just seem to match up very, very well.

In the same way we had

              Gatti-Ward
              Vasquez-Marquez
              Barrera-Morales

I think sometimes in boxing you get guy's who are made for each other because you just get a great clash of styles and I think Martinez and Williams is like that.

That's why we all have to root for Martinez to win the rematch.

Shouldn't Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez fight a second fight before we talk about a trilogy ranking anywhere near Vazquez-Marquez?

Vazquez-Marquez was better than the other two. And, the other two were great. But, Vazquez-Martquez was something special.

A trilogy between Williams-Martinez is premature to even think about it right now. But, if it did happen we would be lucky if it reaches Gatti-Ward and Barrera-Morales. But, it would be very hard for it to reach Vazquez-Marquez. Very hard, but it is still hard to say though right now. We still have to seen the 2nd fight.

Honestly IMO the first fight was not even the best fight of the year. I mean in the discussion but I don't think it was the best last year. But, hopefully it turns out like Vazquez-Marquez which each fight got better and better. But, the other special thing about Vazquez-Marquez is all 3 fights happened in a row in a 12 month period. That is crazy...

It will be very hard to surpass that.
