In a way Pavlik losing sucks for boxing

First, major props to Martinez. He did exactly what he needed to and he was very impressive early on in the fight, and absolutely amazing in the final few rounds. He also won me some good money so no complaints there.

With that said, one of the most anticipated fights - Pavlik vs Williams aint gonna happen, not any time soon anyways.

Pavlik's career is pretty much screwed as well - I doubt he'll stick around at 160 and 168 is simply too talented for him. His career will never be the same.

Now granted, we'll likely get a Williams vs Martinez II, which undoubtedly will be an awesome fight, but it just doesn't have the same buzz that Williams vs Pavlik would have generated.

If they promoters actually did what their job title was, boxing all around would be better. But promotion for all past fights have been ****ty. Williams vs Martinez II should be a big fight since the last one was so good and it'll mean more the second time around too.

It's dissapointing for the fans in the sense that Pavlik-Williams won't happen but I thought Martinez was a better fighter than Pavlik and it showed. Plus, Since Williams got the decision in the first fight with Martinez, I've been waiting for a rematch ever since.

It's a huge blow for Pavlik's career. Now he has to prove he isnt just a HBO hype job, Let's face it aside from Taylor he hasn't beaten serious competition. Miranda and Rubio are good wins but not like wins that make you think he is a really top fighter.

        Bring on Williams-Martinez II!

Don't rule out Pavlik vs. Williams happening. Pavlik may get the rematch and beat Martinez, get a shot at Williams if Paul beats Sergio, or fight Paul after a loss to Sergio. Pavlik-Williams is still a very viable fight in the near future.

And as a bonus we almost definitely get Martinez-Williams II.

Pavlik was completely and thouroughly owned last night. Made Sergio stock rise and now the rematch with Williams will have a bigger buzz.

                I don't understand why Williams-Pavlik is less appealing than Pw-Sergio 2

I would rather see Sergio in the ring with anybody than see Pavlik.

I told you guys that Kelly's career would be in the crapper after this fight...y'all didn't believe me.

Pavlik sucks , geting him out of the picture is good for boxing.. when he moves up to 168 hes gonna get KTFO he got his ass beat by a guy who looked to be a division or 2 smaller than him when in the ring last night
