Instead of waiting on Pascal, Dawson should fight Bute instead

Wait a minute. What happened? The Pascal-Dawson fight is no longer in June? Well if that's the case then I agree, he should fight Bute.

yeah bro. They delayed it to Aug. or Sept. I even thing he needs surgery and with an injury like that....the more time you get to let it heal the better. I mean Lacy had similar problems, and being that its a shoulder injury also, he could easily injury it in sparring if he presses and comes back to early.

His HBO contract already has a stipulation that he only fights twice a year at the most. He should've thrown it in the trash and stayed with Showtime. But then again, HBO pays unwarranted money to him so I can see why he would want to stay with them.

I really don't see Bute moving up, unless he has a problem making weight.

Also, I know this isn't exactly on topic, but does every fight in Canada have to have two Canadian judges?

Well since Pav. lost, he won't have his mega fight this fall like HBO planned. So he can go up and face dawson then come back down and get a guy like Dirrell (who will more than likely get eliminated from the super six).

Dirrell early next year

Also with the one and done's in the next stage of the super 6. Alot of the top guys will soon be available, opening up more opportunities for big fights. So why not take a big fight with Dawson then come back down when more of the top fighters are availabe. To me it makes sense on both sides (Bute and Dawson) but that's just my opinion.

The fight is already scheduled for August, why would Dawson cancel the Pascal fight and fight Bute when it would probably still end up be in the same month?

Like someone mentioned already, Dawson-Pascal will be for the Ring Light Heavyweight title. It would be dumb to do it at this point. If you would've suggested this in January, I would have been all for it, but not now when there's only 4 months left.

I don't see Bute taking that chance anyway. Not saying he's a ducker, but even being the Dawson fan I am, I don't see the benefit in Bute going up and challenging Dawson who doesn't have much marketability at this point.
