In five years at welterweight, Floyd has finally found the balls to fight a top of the line welterweight in Shane Mosley.

    In five years.

His resume has consisted of Mitchell, Baldomir, Judah, DLH, Hatton and Marquez, the majority of those men, longtime members of the lower divisions.

Just now, he is fighting Shane Mosley.

What in the blue **** makes you think Mayweather would consider, much less, fight, Sergio "Middleweight Champion of the World" Martinez?

Mayweather wouldn't do **** but make excuses to not fight Sergio.

      1) No choice? Did you mean duck? ..........You said that Martinez who is a CHAMPION has no choice but to fight fighters like Williams and a 178 pound Pavlik? For one he didn't have to move up in weight class to fight so he had a choice to duck if he wanted to. Especially Pavlik..... but he didn't because he had the balls to do so!!!

      2) You said as long as Floyd fights the best such as Mosley and Pacman (no fight yet) then that's OK.

I'm sorry but if they say that Mosley at 39 will be Floyd's toughest fight then that means he had previously NOT been fighting the best. Everyone else he fought is at a level lower than those 2 guys.

And lets get real, when he fought Baldomir, I can think of many fighters that he avoided that would have brought him a lot more money! Where was the sense in that?

dude, im not gonna debate with u if u kno nothing about boxing. floyd has fought some really good fighters. the problem is there arent many great fighters to fight. there aint many ppl better that mosely, even at 39, and theres no one better than pac. but u listen to the bull that goes on around here and act like u kno what ur tlkin about.

floyd was a young up and coming fighter be4 as well. to get to the top, he cleared out his weight division. he beat the best betw. featherweight and lightweight. he came up to 140 beat the best that div had to offer and it wasnt until he came to ww that he started picking his fights looking for paydays. he still fought de la hoya at his most competitve weight at 154. floyd had never fought at the weight but he took the fight. he stole hattons 0 at 147. all of those fights have their flaws, but they are all pretty good wins. ugo thru any fighters career and you can pick it apart. there are many things that spoil manny's career as well if u look hard enuff.

so dnt give me that ****. go watch fights instead of listening to the hype. there are ppl who kno the truth on this forums. dnt listen to the stans man.

so he hits, then runs outta range, before his opponents can hit him back?

ain't no money in a martinez fight yet....but that could change in the future, once he disposes of paul williams.

              i think it'd be a boring fight tho (mayweather-martinez)

Hey bud, you can disagree but you don't know me so please try to avoid the "you don't know" comments.

Floyd has been a Welterweight for about 5 years but NOT fighting boxers who were considered the top in this class. Actually most were not known for their success as a welterweight.

Here is what he has to show as a welterweight (I didn't make this up):
                1) Juan Manuel Marquez - belongs at 130. At 135 its already a stretch
                2) Ricky Hatton - belongs at 140 - had trouble with average boxers at 147
                3) Carlos Baldomir - around the time Floyd avoided boxers such as Margarito
                4) Zab Judah - had just lost to Baldomir. Judah was at his best years ago at junior welterweight
                5) Sharmba Mitchell - had some success at lighter weights not at welterweight.

Mosley also moved up and had beaten up everyone in those divisions. Yet he still went after a prime Oscar DLH at welterweight. Did he stop there and pick and chose and worry about his 0 like you say Mayweather is aloud to do? No!!! Win or lose/Underdog or favoured/most were at there prime, Mosley fought Oscar again, Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright, Fernando Vargas, Mayorga, Cotto, Margarito and now Mayweather.

From what you are saying, the last time Mayweather was able to find some really good opponents was back in 2001 (Corrales)/ 2002 (Castillo) ...... 8 - 9 years ago. That's a pretty lame excuse if you ask me. Mosley can find them, Martinez can find them but Mayweather is aloud to avoid them.
