While I say Bute wins after seeing the fight tonight, I don't see him stopping Pavlik. Kelly is pretty good defensively at getting away from really flush stuff and has a granite chin. Bute by UD. Easily though.

I know Pavlik has been overrated beyond belief for the last three years. But I don't automatically come to that conclusion to tell you the truth. Pavlik has more endurance and can take a better punch than Miranda can and Bute's defense is a joke. I would slightly favor Bute, but not by much. And Pavlik may have really been weight drained a little bit.

You forgot to mention that Lucian Bute had his ass handed to him in the first Andrade fight and was saved from a knockout by a cheating referee. To date, Bute has not fought a true top five 168-pounder because they are all in the Showtime tournament, which he refused to participate in. Stopping Andrade, Zuniga and Miranda simply proves that he is good, not great. He would have to be great to stop Pavlik and it would never happen.

Also, although you didn't mention it, Hopkins would school Bute the same way he schooled Pavlik.

What Lucian Bute has done over the last two years is the equivalent of winning the NIT Tournament (American basketball fans will know what I am talking about). He is beating second-tier fighters. Winning the NIT (second-tier) tournament does not mean that you would win the NCAA Champtionship (first tier), It simply means that you have proven that you belong in the NCAA tournament. In other words, don't look at what he has done against second-tier opponents Miranda, Zuniga and Andrade and use that to justify a claim that he would beat a first tier opponent like Pavlik.
