    Floyd-Arturo: This year's Lewis-Tua

I just watched a few rounds of the Lennox Lewis-David Tua fight from back in 2000, and I couldn't help but think that there are many similarities, obviously not so much size-wise and/or style wise, but of the circumstances surrounding the Gatti-Mayweather showdown.....

you got one guy who has 2 main attributes are a left hook and a pretty haircut....

and a defensive fighter who gets accused of being boring, even when he wins big....

I'd rather get a Pryor-Arguello-type of war, but I see this fight being more tactical, and eerily similar to the flow and outcome of Lewis and Tua...

anybody got another analogy of what you think Gatti-Mayweather may end up being similar to????

well so did Tua! And look what happened there! One-punch fighters will lose to guys with multi-dimensional talent 99% of the time

Tua had broken ribs going into the Lewis fight, i'm not saying he would of won if he didn't, but he may have put on a better performance.

gatti's a more complete fighter than tua. the only thing i think that will give floyd the win is floyds superior speed. dont get me wrong, though. i love gatti 1000 times more than i love floyd, but i just dont think that gatti's on par with PBF when it comes to skill.

Well I sure never heard the "ribs excuse" but that was one of the most diasapointing "fights" I can recall.
I can't imagine PBF and Gatti being at all similar. Gatti wouldn't just try to survive if he had a knife in his back.
And PBF is miles better than Lummox.

his ribs weren't broken before the fight, a double left hook in round 3 is what broke Tua's ribs, Tua winced, then Lewis clocked him with a huge overhand right, and from that point on the fight was not competitive (I watched it again this morning, it was a brutal left to the body that did it)....so what will Gatti's excuse be? Broken cheekbones? Hands? Ribs?

gatti wont need an excuse. win, lose, draw, or no contest, gatti doesnt give excuses. especially against loudmouths like mayweather.
