Sharmba on the comeback trail (or maybe not)

I just thought I'd post about Sharmba's comeback fight because it's the only one I really care about in the Tyson card.

Even though he gets a weird attitude problem sometimes, I can't help but root for the guy, and hopes he pieces together something of a comeback in these last few years of his career. He could be damaged goods after the beating he took from Kostya (or maybe he was before, which is why he lost so easy) but the way Gatti and Glen Johnson are going these days every multi-loss fighter probably thinks that they have a chance.

Now he's fighting a guy (Chris Smith) who lost to the guy that lost to Mosley (Estrada) in the ESPN PPV, so it's not like he's stepping back into the deep end for this one. He needs to take the guy out fast in order to make any sort of impression.

I think Shamba Mitchell has looked a little bit like a shot fighter ever since the Lovemore Ndou fight.

(I thought he lost that fight but was handed a little gift decsion by the judges).

I did say before the Hatton/Tszyu fight that the Tszyu win over Mitchell flattered Tszyu.

Good point. I think most people dismissed a couple of so-so performances (remember he went the distance against Tackie as well) because they thought he was just killing time until the rematch with Tszyu. However upon further review it appears that he really was struggling a bit with these guys.

His attitude can hurt the hell out of him. I think that might be the biggest factor going into this. It's possible he may have already mentally retired after losing so bad before. I don't know what to expect from him.
