Who is your favorite promoter in the sport?

I personally have to go with Lou DiBella. He just seems the most genuine of all of them, by far.

Whether it be backing out of promoting Taylor when there were two other fights guaranteed to bring in millions, or him freaking out about the scoring of Funeka-Guzman I when he promoted neither fighter, he just seems like someone who actually has the best interest of the sport at heart, rather than doing whatever classless moves put his fighters ahead.

They're all horrible in my opinion, Lou DiBella might be the best of the bad mix though just because he isn't protecting his fighters and let them choose their own paths.

Do you know how young Taylor was in his career when he fought Hopkins?

my favorite as far as putting together good fights and classyness, Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy... Don King or Gary Shaw are the funnest to watch though, Don because he's hood and hes just a funny ass mofo, even though he doesnt make alot of fights happen and he's a corrupt individual, and Gary Shaw because he's a fat obnoxious slob, who yells all the time, but he dont give a ****, he says whats on his mind and he calls it like it is, and that's what his job is, he doesnt take any **** from other promoters or anyone, he does whats best for his fighters.

Who is Timothy Bradley's promoter? Who ever that is, has to be one of the best. Bradley is far from protected. Bradley keeps fighting the best at 140. Is that Lou too?

I think Bradley is Shaws boxer, thats another promoter who lets his fighters fight the best. I mean look at that, Dirrell is a young boxer still yet he is fighting some of the best fighters at 168 because Shaw let him go into the super 6 tourney. Though most of Shaw's boxers have extensive amateur backgrounds, so maybe thats one of the reasons he has no problems for them taking challenges?

Didn't Jeff Lacy, Andre Dirrell, Timothy Bradley, all have pretty good amateur backgrounds? Of course the pros are a different thing, though Dirrell and Bradley seemed to fair pretty good in the pros.

The only reason I can think that it happened was because Hopkins was likely close to retiring, since he told his mom he wasn't going to fight past 40, so the pressure was on to fight him for that huge pile of cash while he still had a chance.

Plus, he did let Taylor pick his own path, considering he fought Wright after both Hopkins fights (a controlling promoter would NEVER put their fighter in with Wright after two hard fights with Hopkins... they would have chosen Randy Griffin or something easy).
