it would be cool to mesure how hard a punch is. just to see who the hardest puncher is in each division. then come fightnight they could throw it up on the tale of the tape.

      I've always wanted that.

Dunno if some will pretend to be weaker and entice others to go toe to toe though

No it doesn't work very well. If it did they'd already use it.

It would be interesting. Is it actually possible though?

yes i think so even though it would represent punching power under ideal conditions.

Problem with measuring punch PSI, is the different devices benefit different types of shots, which would make for inaccurate readings based on boxer's styles. Good example is like, Corrie Sanders has a very strong left cross, but his right hook is extremely weak compared to a guy like David Tua, who has a strong hook but a slower cross.

There's currently 2 kinds of PSI measuring devices, the one you saw in the Rocky movie is a bull**** one that you never see anywhere, the only ones I've seen are at most fairgrounds and have a speedbag looking thing, and if your best punch is a hook instead of a cross, you'll get better marks on the machine.

I hit 952 the last time I threw a right hook on one. I seriously doubt that's accurate though. I might hit around 500psi with that right hook.
