BERNARD HOPKINS TO SIGN WITH DON KING?
    By mellow_mood

mellow mood has been informed that living legend and future hall of famer Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins and his handlers have been in discussions with Don King. Hopkins has been promoted by Golden Boy for several years but previously made it clear that he is now a promotional free agent. He could be on the verge of making an announcement of signing with King if discussions between Team Hopkins and the high haired one continue to progress. Hopkins was unavailable for immediate comment. Remember where you heard it first! 11:13 AM ET

anyone care to talk about this?? intersting....

Sounds logical for Bhop if he still wants to fight.... maybe we'll get BHOP vs Tyson, and get to watch that disater for 59.95

He went from demolishing pavlick to chasing a rematch with roy ,that ended up being terrible, and now he wants to be taken seriously about being a heavyweight champ. He pretty much took himself out of the mix and now just looks like a grumpy old man starving for attn. AND I LIKE BERNARD!!!! Met a him a few times while in delaware. Hated him for a while for beating on TITO the way he did but then i learned to appreciate what he did in the ring. My opinion: RETIRE or take the realistic challenges, maybe in your weight class. At your age you dont need to test the waters of the heavyweight division, you still have your health why risk it.

and u know don king will find him a heavyweight match, he knows how to milk a name dry.

Good. This would successfully end his career, his fights have become a chore to watch the last few years and he really doesn't have many options.

King could get him a shot at Guillermo Jones or at the WBC cruiserweight title, Valuev or a high ranking in the WBA heavyweight rankings. Either way, he'll only have 1 fight from now until he's 48.

Doesn't surprise me. Hey, King promotes Roy. RJJ-BHop 3! The worst trilogy of all time!
