Comments Thread For: Povetkin Will Never Fight Wladimir Klitschko, Says Steward

The trainer of the heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko, does not believe Alexander Povetkin will choose to accept his mandatory title shot. The IBF has ordered Klitschko to defend the title against Povetkin. A deadline of April 26 was set or the fight will go to a purse bid. [Click Here To Read More]

I disagree with Steward saying that Povetkin only beat Chambers because he has a higher punch-output. Povetkin won because he wanted it more, and I think Povetkins skillsets are underrated. I seen him make fighters miss and pay for missing. He sets up traps for his opponents, he is pretty smart. Povetkins skill-sets are underrated, yes I'd pick Wlad to beat Povetkin. But thats not because Povetkin is crap, Wlad is just that great.

Wlad may Knock Povetkin out but thats because Povetkin is willing to take risks to actually try to win the fight.

guys, lets be honest, after the chambers fight, is there anyone who thinks povetik stands a chance against wlad??? povetkin is young, he might as well wait out the k bros, or mebbe fight haye. i actually think thtd be a better fight for him than either k bro.

It's two different styles though. Chambers is a defensive machine, Povetkin is an offensive machine.

Povetkin is not that young, he's 31, only 3 years younger than Wlad.

If Povetkin won't take his shot then the IBF might order a mandatory shot for Sam Peter.

Little brother is becomming a heavywieght legend. Since his last loss in 2004 he has beaten all different fighters with all different styles. He has improved so much, it's really amazing, forget Peter. A rematch would be even more onesided at this point, Wlad by Ko, and doesn't hit the canvas this time, it's no wonder the only worthy challangers out there won't fight him, Haye and Povetkin, they know they will lose.
