CORRALES-CASTILLO NOT THE FIRST OF ITS KIND

"24-KARAT" ROLD ON EDWIN ROSARIO-JOSE LUIS RAMIREZ II

The lightweight title classic between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo three weeks ago is all but certain to be named the 2005 fight of the year. A national ad for the replay in papers like the New York Times and USA Today quoted one brilliant scribe (me) as stating that it was the best lightweight title fight ever. Interestingly enough, it would be the first time in 21 years a bout waged at 135 pounds would receive those annual honors. The last time a lightweight title fight was named fight of the year was in 1984.

The Puerto Rican crowd was stunned and Marv Albert was calling the fight like a madman.

Rosario landed his usual bombs but JLR never quit and scored the standing KO.

Their first fight was a good one also.

That is funny after the Castillo corrales fight I had posted that fight in here. Sweet science I never got to see the frist fight. Was it a controversial decision? Why did he get a rematch?
I think Jose Luis Ramirez is a guy that never got the recognition he deservs. Lokk at his record it is very similiar to the legend JCC>

Their first fight was close but Rosario earned the decision and the reason there was a rematch, is because JLR became the #1 contender.

JLR came up short alot of times in big fights but he was a solid fighter.

Do you think he can make the hall of fame or should he make it?

thats one of the crazyest standing kOs i ever seen. Rosario is just standing there huggin the corner

If there ever was absolutely no doubt someone was out on his feet was then,

He was unconcious for like 4 seconds standing though.
