So fighting twice in Germany for the World title and getting ripped of in one of those fights. Winning the the title in Canada. Fighting in Biloxsi early in his career. = Green

Whole career in North America bar 1 fight in Manchester against a nobody. = Dawson

Assuming you are an ignorant muppet who has no idea about the size of Oz but if you are going to say that people only fight in their own home towns at least do your research!

Wonder why RJJ and BH never made it over the Atlantic to fight JC???

Biloxi was actually last year, but he fought on the Tsyzu-Tackie undercard in Vegas in 2002. Those other fights you cite are the ones he built his popularity on in Australia, and no-one would question those were tough, exciting and legitimate prize fights.

But those fights were a long time ago now. It seems like an eternity since he fought someone at the top of their game. It was four years ago when Mundine beat him by a shut-out. I could never understand why he quit after he easily beat the lowly Stipe Drews for the WBA LHW strap. If ever there was a time Green would have made waves in the boxing world it was then. He had a world class coach in Ismael Salas and you could see how the new division and Salas were taking him to another level. The raw power was being coupled to a broader skill set. Then he got The Fear one night, sensed his mortality and quit.

He came back for Mundine, but that didn't work out so he went off and did his own thing, which was cool. First he fought a washed-up nobody - Anthony van Niekerk. Then he fought a nobody and washed him up - Julio Cesar Dominguez. After Dominguez he was presented with the least respected of all the belts and started calling himself a world champion.

I actually went to the Roy Jones fight because fights like that don't get made every day in Australia. Plus, having marveled at Roy's dominating win over Lacy, I thought perhaps Roy was having a sort of Indian summer. That he could still look great against B grade fighters but would flop terribly at the elite level. Green knocked him out. The two minutes it took him to do it were unforgettable if you were there to see it.

The horrible post-fight victory rant by Green was equally unforgettable, but for different reasons. That's when the tide turned for me with Daniel Green.

I remember reading with horror the next day that Green's team were considering who out of James Toney, Antonio Tarver, B-Hops and Evander Holyfield to try and bring to Australia.

At this time Gary Shaw chimed in and offered Chad Dawson. Green said no.

When the Hopkins fight came to nothing, Green signed to fight Manny Siaca. After all the years Green berated Mundine for choosing weak opponents, Green went and picked one of Mundine's opponents. Albeit, one who actually beat an injured Mundine in a stinker of a fight six years ago. A guy who'd fought one round in 23 months. It was another moment when you could see the bone beneath the skin.

Nobody in Sydney gave a damn so they moved it to Perth. The local yokels lapped it up, but I think the rest of Australia was quietly sickened.

If and when Greeny decides to fight the best in his division, whether it be LHW or CW, I'll back him to the hilt. Until then, I'm not gonna watch his fights anymore.

but no little girl popkins wouldn't dare step in the ring with green cause he's scared.

keep putting **** on green. u can have your boring fighters who want to jab and hold for 12 rounds but at least fighters like green come to knock the other guys head off.
Green cannot box worth a ****-he's a glorified pub-brawler. Fighting an inactive Manny Siaca several pounds out of his weight division is a joke.
Chad Dawson,Steve Cunningham,Tomasz Adamek,,etc could outbox this redneck bumfighter.
I just wanna know why they tried giving a well past it Roy Jones a set of used gloves and why he used twice the length of wrappings with adhesives...
Pretty bad when Anthony "I got dropped by Sven Ottke"Mundine beat him and outclassed him...
