At 38, Tyson is the age Liston was when he died in mysterious circumstances in Las Vegas. (Liston was found dead in early 1971 but the precise date of his death, like its cause, is not certain.) Liston had 50 professional wins, the same number Tyson has now, though Tyson has more by knockout (44) than Liston did (39). However, with his loss to Danny Williams earlier this year, Tyson also has more losses (5) than Liston did (4).
