  • Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko Worries: "Haye Can Not Be Trusted"

WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is a bit worried when it comes to making a deal for a unification bout with WBA champ David Haye. On Monday Klitschko released a video baiting Haye to accept a fight. The British fighter's manager, Adam Booth, will begin negotiations with Klitschko's management this week. Last year Haye had agreed to fight Wladimir in June and then wanted to fight older brother Vitali Klitschko in September. The British boxer withdrew from both fights. Wladimir doesn't trust Haye's promise to follow through if the two sides reach a deal. [Click Here To Read More]

Haye most likely will act interested in the Klit but eventually negotiate himself out of any deal by building up BS demands. Then he will rematch Valuev (oh boy have we been waiting for that one) and then keep fighting bums in the UK.

Time will tell. Haye has a good chance at Wlad why would he price himself out!

Yep... and should he win he would hold all the cards and all comers would have to bow to his terms. He can lose and go home rich (even if he makes say 35%), or win and have even more riches in the future.

Haye is in a win-win situation he would be ****** to not take the fight. If he beats Wlad then Haye will call the shots from then on.

"this time you will not see defensive boxing as in my last few fights. I will be more aggressive."
And this, right here, is the only way Haye can hope to win. An aggressive Wlad, whilst very dangerous and not to be messed with, suddenly becomes easier to catch with a wild haymaker than the one who stands back and controls the pace from a distance with the jab. Sanders proved this.

Getting under Wlad's skin and forcing an aggressive fight out of him is exactly what Haye wants. The former needs to be careful with that mindset and not fall into such a trap. Whilst I don't agree with his methods and words, these are good mind games from Haye - they seem to be working.

Yes, this is the Wlad that has to show up to enhance Haye's chances.

But an aggressive Wlad against a fast and sneaky power puncher like Haye ? I'll believe it when I see it.

Problem is that Haye now smelled the bacon and sees he can get rich fighting bums on UK PPV.

So honestly, what's the "smarter" move for Haye. Fight three bums in the UK (Holyfield, Meehan and Valuev rematch just to name some potential opponents), make 2.5 million quid each fight for a total paycheck of 7.5 million for VERY LITTLE RISK.

Or go fight Wlad, take a big risk (Haye is not without a chance IMO, but he is the underdog no matter what) and make the same 7.5 million quid.

If I was Haye I'd go with the zero risk option. Fight the bums, make good money, wait until Vitali retires and until Wlad is beyond his prime.

You don't think Wlad and Manny are playing mind games with Haye? Manny already said Haye would never get in the ring with either Klitschko. Now Wlad is saying he's coming out firing against Haye. You give Haye too much credit. Manny Steward is a veteran at the "mind games" thing: Booth and Haye are novices.
