Floyd Mayweather - Reality check

No, that is going into retrospect.
During the 50s, everything Ali did was rude, obnoxious, arrogant, classless, and douchebag-like.
Different times. Now-a-days, we consider it funny and entertaining. Back then if you wore your pants below your belly button, you were a classless lowlife.Comment

Both played the loudmouthed villain, and people tuned in to Ali's fights
hoping he'd be shut up, lol... he got well-deserved love only very late in
his career.
You're right about Floyd falling short of Ali's game, though:
Ali would claim to be the GOAT, and proceeded to KO the best out there,
proving the matter. Floyd similarly claims to be the GOAT, but then also
says legacy/greatness doesn't matter --it's about $$$$, which dilutes the
primary "GOAT" message.Comment

Ali called Joe Frazier an uncle tom, a gorilla and ugly, and this is after Frazier helped to get him reinstated. Floyd has never gone that far. People and their revisionist history. :wank:Comment

This is very true. Ali went farther than Floyd, was also more entertaining, more witty, and took on better opposition. I like Floyd an all, but you can't compare him with Ali.Comment

Yes Floyd comes off as a little kid begging for attention. He also shows his jealousy in doing so by saying I got more of this and that when in reality he doesn't. It makes him look dillusional and desperate.Last edited by ELPacman; 04-12-2010, 05:42 PM.Comment
