Will ring rust be a factor for Floyd??

Everyone is asking questions about ring rust for Mosley but Floyds only fight in the past 3 years has been against an undersized and overmatched light weight. So what about Floyd will ring rust be a factor in the fight of his life????....Lefty

I dont think it will, just as I don't think it will be a factor for Shane. But people like to keep bringing it up. They both will be in the best shape and most prepared that they have been in their celebrated careers.

I don't think ring rust will be a big problem for either of them at this stage of their careers. When boxers are at this stage of their careers they arent supposed to that active anyway.

The better man in this fight will win and that's all there is to it. Mosley won't complain about the time out of the ring so people shouldnt try and complain for him.

I don't see ring rust really from either, but I'm interested in seeing how Floyd manages to win without depending solely on counter punching. I think to win over the judges and crowd, he's gotta get offensive, and Mosley at 39 is still one of the most dangerous fighters in the division. Also interested in seeing how Mosley handles Floyd's defense and how he can break through it.

        But ring rust? Nah

floyd already got his tune up. he shouldn't be rusty and if he is, its his own damn fault for boxing a lightweight

This is my thought going into the fight but people like to make excuses before the fight even takes place. They called for Floyd to fight Mosley and now that its happening it is Mosley is old and rusty....Mosley is one of the TOP 3 WW in the world with geniune power in both hands. if Floyd beats him he deserves all the respect in the world. On the flipside if Mosley beats Floyd it does not mean Floyds been fighting a lack of competiton like most will say and that his 40-0 was a fluke either. This is what is supposed to happen when two of the best in the world at their craft go head to head It is a dangerous fight for both of them....Lefty

As far as ringrust is concerned I'd be more worried about Mosley than Floyd. He's old and has been inactive for more than a year.

Surprisingly the only thing I saw close to rust in the fight against marquez was that floyd was a little more conservative than usual and he seemed to hold back which is to be expected for a fighter with a near 3 year layoff. I think those 12 rounds were enough to put enough confidence into floyd for a challenging fight it served its purpose and then some with the 1mil ppv buys. I don't feel mosley should have considerable rust either because he just went through a training camp and has had arguably his most impressive win last year(I don't feel that way necessarily) but its hit or miss when your above 35. There is nothing to make me believe shane will be less than the shane against Margarito and this is a very dangerous fight. It's still the dangerous fight that several months ago naysayers were saying floyd wouldn't take and was a coward for not taking.

Yep it was far to long for Mosley to wait.. but oh well i guess he got the mega fight he was after. I just don't see him winning a decision at all and think he will start of slow due to ring rust
