If you think footballs for "sissy's", you're just as ignorant as those who call boxers "cowards".

true, but depending on who you're using the word on and who you are comparing the person to, it either heightens or lowers the definition of the word.

a "boxing coward" can still be the baddest man in a room full or average joes.

Beating up on weaker people for a living is in no way brave and just a little cowardly.
I don't like to hear boxers referred to as "bums" or "tomato cans," or anything like that, but I believe that there are cowards in boxing (and every other sport). It takes guts to fight another man, especially when you don't have anger or hatred to steel your nerves. But there are boxers who avoid opponents because they fear losing, or even fear for their safety. Courage has been defined as "action in the face of fear." We all experience fear from time to time. The man who fights in spite of his fear is courageous, a warrior. The man who chooses to fight only those he knows he has nothing to fear from is at least cowardly...if not a coward.

          exactly correct.

a coward can be contentwith an illusion of invincibility a true warrior relishes the challenge and does not fear losing.

Football is a world away from boxing. In boxing there is no one to pass the ball to, and you and the other guy are the entire focus of attention.

You can still get hurt badly in football, but it is not at all humiliating to be taken off the field with a busted knee or whatever, but getting put on the ropes and having the crap beaten out of you before the referee saves you is most definitely humiliating.

As usual though, people in this thread have twisted the definition of "coward" so it can somehow apply to Floyd Mayweather.

Thats fine and dandy. Still doesnt change the fact that there are cowards in every sport.

Ethugs, and bloggers shouldn't have the audacity to call any pro-boxer a coward!
