Cotto's punch resistance must really suck now.

But for real, I really don't think Berto can beat Cotto. Berto relies on wrestling on the inside....he would get eaten alive by Cotto on the inside. Cotto would rough that dude up.....just imagine the bitching Berto would do in that fight.
The mans got NO inside skills, to top that off he is vulnerable from the outside as well.

Cotto's punch resistance even now is better than Berto's. And Cotto hits harder and is just overall more skilled.

Aside from the "Cotto is done" argument, tactically speaking, I don't see how Berto would beat Cotto.

After all the shots he took from Margarito, Clottey and Pacquiao; I don't see Cotto having the same durability.

Cotto has a bad chin, but Berto is no Pacquiao that can knock a man out with one shot, nor is he a technical boxer with good defense, that you can not outmuscle like Clottey. He also sure as hell isn't a iron chinned high stamina, and high work rate person like Margarito.

There is alot of stuff we're not considering. Quintana is 5'10 and very rangy, although Berto stopped him; he didn't look all that impressive but that was more due to Quintana. In my opinion he looked alot better against Quintana then he did against Collazo, I can say that much, but Berto entered the ring weighing 160 lbs against Collazo and 153 lbs against Quintana.

You can easily tell Berto's overall speed was better against Quintana then it was against Collazo and those aren't southpaws you look good against, Cotto's style is the style Berto will be comfortable against. Berto doesn't have to lunge in and eat huge shots, Cotto would be right in front of him. Cotto is better all around but I don't think he can take what Berto throws at him, especially now.

We're just gonna have to agree to disagree.

Guys like Berto are the guys that Cotto looks good against. Berto's obviously faster, but Cotto would be first, that's his game.

And I have WAY more confidence in Cotto taking big shots from Berto, even now, then I do Berto taking heavy punches from Cotto.

Cotto would pick him apart wit that jab and beat him up on the inside, wearing him down to a mid to late round stoppage. And most importantly, Cotto would dictate the pace.

And I also really just want to see how Cotto would deal with Berto's constant hugging. I honestly think he'd throw Berto out of the ring.

If anybody was intitiating wrestling and clinching, it was Quintana.
