    ****** Article on front page

All I have to say to show that it is highly flawed, is that the writer says when Jones lost at the end of his career after taking a good thrashing from Tarver and losing lots of muscle, there should be no excuses, yet the writer makes excuses for Hopkins and Toney losing to Jones earlier when Jones was in his prime.

I guess when old fighters get beat up it means they would lose in their prime. I mean come on, everyone knows a prime Leon Spinks would have destroyed a prime Muhammad Ali as well. Right?

I'm sure that the writers and Rick Reeno appreciate you expressing your difference to the article in a responsible, adult manner using the correct avenues and without resorting to name-calling.

      Thousands posts... well done...

Don't you think that because there are SOOOOO MANY people that don't believe in RJJ and his so called "greatness" that there maybe a hint of truth in it all?

        Appreciate it.

And no, not really, I mean just as many people or more say he is great, so I might just suspect a hint of truth in that instead.

In any case, I'm just saying if the writer wants to say Jones' wins over Hopkins and Toney aren't great but his losses to Tarver and Johnson MEAN something, that is a poor basis (and blatantly biased basis) to detract from Jones' career on.

i don't rate RJJ with ali or sugar robinson or anything like that. but that article was indeed came from a writer who is a statician, rather from someone with ring experience.

if the guys who lace the gloves who give and take for a living say you're great then you must be great.

I agree the article was bad a biased and bad.

"The common bond between Tyson and Jones is they both lost the biggest fights of their careers, and came up short in the only redemption fight they ever had."

Has this guy heard of Montell Griffen? Roy KTFO1 in the Griffen REDEMPTION fight. I would like to know what Roys biggest fight of his career was. IMO it was either the John Ruiz or James Toney fight both fights which he dominated. So again wrong that Roy has "lost his biggest fight of his career"

The Tarver rematch fight wasn't a redemption fight. Roy had already beaten Tarver. Unlike the other 48 mismatches Tarver gave Roy a tough fight so that was why there was a rematch.

"Roy Jones demonstrated heart in his first fight with Antonio Tarver. But in the rematch, he was destroyed by one punch!"

1 Punch Knock outs do happen. Even to great fighters. Great fighters quit in fights as well something Roy has never done.

Roy Jones is the most talented fighter ever. Never before in boxing has anyone had a combination of such great reflexes, speed, along with decent power and ring smarts. Here is a natural middleweight who fought for a very long time at light heavyweight and also won a title at heavyweight--something james toney couldn't do without steroids. At lightheavy, virtually all of his opponents were much bigger than him and yet he cleaned out the divison. Below light heavy, he was murdering people.
