Lewis was 37, that's not really that old for a heavyweight. Vitali is almost 39, came back after a 4 year layoff and is still dominating the HW division.

In the interviews before their fight, Lewis said he was very motivated for the fight and wanted to keep fighting for a few more years.

Lewis was coming off the KO win over Tyson. In the Lewis/Tyson post fight interview Lewis stated "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age."

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement. That's a FACT.

3. vitali didnt dominate the fight, thats a blatant lie. vitali did very well in the first two rounds and fought evenly through the next two, but in the last two rounds of the fight lewis had taken over and was in full control. this isnt unusual for lewis, hes a thinking fighter and often looks bad early on before he figures his oponent out. considering that he fought a man taller than himself (which is rare) and only had 10 days to make the adjustment its no wonder the same happened here.

shannon briggs dominated lewis in the first two rounds, ended up knocked the **** out. frank bruno beat him up for a couple of rounds early on, ended up knocked the **** out. vitali did excellent early on but yet again lewis figured him out and was on his way to knocking vitali the **** out before the fight was stopped on cuts.
