yes, but how often was he hit, when he did that? RJJ had to get old before he could be hit. Ward may have the speed and power to do the same.

I am not super impressed with any of the heavyweight prospects yet. Samuel Peter seems decent enough, but it is hard for me to get behind someone with such a physique.

Okine taking on Briggs is big though. Briggs is one of those gatekeepers even now I guess. Beat him and you're in the top 20, even 15. With 14 fights under him, that'd be good for Okine. Did the man have an amateur career?

Ohh man I do know Tubbs is garbage but a lot of people thought Brian Minto was a great white heavyweight to some. I never thought much off him, but I was just using that as an example.

Okine is powerful and fast and I believe he is a better prospect than Samuel Peter. He is getting tested very early especially for a heavyweight in his career. Briggs is a nice tough fight and should shoot him into the top 20 ranks if he wins impressively.

Okine was even mentioned as a potential opponent for Tyson and then was disregarded because of his size and power. Big Ab was also going to be a sparring partner for Vitali Klitschko for his Williams fight but Vitali's managers chose not to because of the chance of injury because of his pure grit and power.

Abraham boxed as an amateur in Ghana and was brought over to the states by his manager to turn pro.

Tubbs is not garbage, just old and deluded. He was lucky to face a disinterested Greg Page for his title win.

Andre Ward is an excellent fighter and I see him as a future p4p guy like Jones or Mayweather, but in a different way image wise. I see him as the quintessential athlete, a guy who doesn't have to be a villian type or talk **** to be successful. He'll be a JOrdan type, who you like and respect for the simple fact that he's so talented and likeable. Great prospect. Can't wait for him to take the next step up.

Not that I don't like Mayweather and all his **** talking. It's even better that he always backs it up.

ONLY RJJ can mimic RJJ. That's the problem with Andre Ward's style, he's not athletic enough to pull off a RJJ style. I mean RJJ aint a boxer, he aint a fighter, he's an athlete.

Gotta agree totally, its hard to make a name in boxing these days. ward knows he has these guys outclassed and he can get away with a flamboyant style and win fans in the process. i guarantee you he straightens up as soon as he has a big fight. yeah he will get caught now and then, but these guys hes fighting are scared to throw two punches in a row.

his jab will be one of the very best, wait till he learns how to really use it.
